FCC Approves Carriers To Block Robocalls…Finally

This one should go into the “It’s About F—ing Time” file. Yesterday, the FCC finally gave phone carriers permission to “block unwanted calls and illegal robocalls” for their customers. In a message of true unity, FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai said, “There’s one thing in our country today that unites republicans and democrats, liberals and conservatives, socialists and libertarians, vegetarians and carnivores, Ohio State and Michigan fans…It’s that they’re sick and tired of being bombarded by unwanted robocalls.” There’s a potential downside, however, there’s nothing in the new rules that keeps companies from charging for the service, so keep an eye out for that on your bill.
